Born - July 31, 1952; Managua, Nicaragua.
Biography - Studied for a year at the School of Fine Arts in Leon. Joined the community of primitivistic painters at Solentiname, and created works for the book,
The Gospel in Art by the Peasants of Solentiname. During the war (1978-79) took refuge in Costa Rica, and contributed paintings to the movement against Somoza. Settled in Leon after the war, and joined the Sutiava group of artists.
Exhibitions - Participated in exhibitions at the Solentiname collective, Gallery Juan Bautista Cuadra (Leon), Gallery Praxis (Managua), Gallery Tres Mundo (Managua), Primitive Painters Group at UNAN (Leon), Gallery La Marsellesa (Managua). International exhibitions in United States, Germany, France, England, Italy, Switzerland, Cuba, Austria and Costa Rica. Fletes cruz has exhibited on several occasions at Americas Arts Gallery in Gettysburg, PA, and at Indigo Arts Gallery in Philadelphia. Solo exhibits at Indigo Arts in March and April 2004, and February and March 2007. While in Pennsylvania he painted two murals in Gettysburg, PA, including one at the
Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary., and murals at the Lancaster Theological Seminary and the University of Pittsburgh.
The Paintings - "The landscapes reflect the flora and fauna that surround the peasants of the countryside - where peasants and their children learn from Mother Earth about the whims of nature."
